Stanwood is 2-8 against Everett since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Seagulls at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Stanwood has five straight victories, Everett has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Stanwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Oak Harbor on Saturday as they made off with a 21-14 win. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Spartans, who until this game were averaging 3.65 runs allowed.

Addison Anderson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off five runs, four doubles, and three RBI while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rubi Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Dahl, who got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Stanwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Everett came up short against Roosevelt on Saturday, falling 12-5.
Stanwood pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Stanwood took their victory against Everett in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Seagulls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
