The Jones Fightin' Tigers waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 56-51 victory over Lake Minneola. That's two games straight that Jones has won by exactly five points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jones to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keishaun Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Isaac Buckley was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Lake Minneola lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alvin Colbert, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Daishaun Davis, who scored 12 points.
Jones' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Lake Minneola, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Jones will be playing in front of their home fans against Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Boone is ranked 113th, while Jones is ranked 133rd). Lake Minneola won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. East Ridge comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
