The E.D. White Cardinals put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Sam Houston 45-31. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Among those leading the charge was Paxton Lafont, who picked up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Bailey, who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown. Bailey hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Gavin Stout was another key contributor, throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns.
E.D. White's win was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.23 points. As for Sam Houston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
E.D. White will take on St. James at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. James will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Sam Houston, they will be playing at home against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Southside is ranked 35th, while Sam Houston is ranked 39th).
