The Hicksville Aces were the 58-47 winner over the Montpelier Locomotives when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Hicksville took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montpelier. Hicksville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Hicksville saw an underclassman step up: Garrett Turnbull scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Sanders, who scored 7 points.
Hicksville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Montpelier, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hicksville will take on Continental at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Continental comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Montpelier, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Delta at 5:15 p.m.
