The El Dorado Springs Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Butler Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
El Dorado Springs made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Adrian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs blew past the Blackhawks 18-3 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Lacyn Perrodin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She also put up a walk, which was her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Coale, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Coale is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Tayah Garringer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
El Dorado Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adrian only posted an OBP of .368.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Butler, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Miami a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The contest marked the Bears' most dominant win of the season.
Like El Dorado Springs, Butler also got a great game from a two-way player: Kylee Dubray. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Dubray was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Butler got a massive performance out of Kadyn Cook, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hudson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
The victory made it two in a row for El Dorado Springs and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Butler, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Butler's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: El Dorado Springs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. It's a different story for Butler, though, as they've only averaged .201. Will they be able to contain El Dorado Springs' hitters?
El Dorado Springs skirted past Butler 6-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
