The St. Joseph Central Flyers were the 53-49 winner over the Wayne Pioneers when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. St. Joseph Central lost to Wayne on the road by a decisive 62-44 margin on Tuesday.
Isaac Meddings had a dynamite game for Wayne, going 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 5 assists. Cooper Adkins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
St. Joseph Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Wayne, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
St. Joseph Central will head out on the road to face off against South Gallia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne, they will be playing at home against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
