Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Alex Longhorns on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Duke Moore made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
In other batting news, Wayne got a massive performance out of Ty Kemp, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Kemp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Langstyn Mcclendon, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs.
Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alex only posted an OBP of .211.
Wayne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.
Looking ahead, Wayne will host Rush Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Alex does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
