Paxton is 10-0 against Ponce De Leon since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Paxton Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Ponce De Leon Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Paxton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three contests.
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Paxton was not quite Ariton's equal in the second half on Saturday. Paxton fell just short of Ariton by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite their defeat, Paxton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sawyer Adams, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Adams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Noah Morgan, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ponce De Leon came up short against Bethlehem on Friday and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, Ponce De Leon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Bethlehem is ranked 192nd).
Paxton's record now sits at 6-3. As for Ponce De Leon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Paxton against Ponce De Leon when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-21 victory. With Paxton ahead 30-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
