Sherman Oaks CES  took care of business in their home opener  (and then some) on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Sun Valley Magnet Pioneers with a sharp  13-3 victory. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the   7-6 win the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2023.
 Nicholas Bilicic was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  2.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits (and only one walk). What's more,  he gave up only one  walk, the fewest he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Anthony Medrano, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Matthew Perez, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Sun Valley Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Coming up, Sherman Oaks CES will square off against Vaughn at 3:15  p.m.  on Friday. Vaughn will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something Sherman Oaks CES surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sun Valley Magnet, they will challenge Monroe at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday.
