After flying high against Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy last Monday, the Cumberland Christian Academy patriot came back down to earth. Cumberland Christian Academy fell to Arlington Christian 59-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arlington Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chezi Essel, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Essel hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Davon Aikens, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Cumberland Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Arlington Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
Cumberland Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Atlanta Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arlington Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fulton Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
