After a string of four wins, the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Susquehanna Township at home by a decisive 62-48 margin. If Bishop McDevitt hoped to take revenge for the 43-39 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Susquehanna Township was led to victory by Ava London and Schuyler Coles. London scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Coles dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Coles has scored at least a third of Susquehanna Township's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Barnes, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Bishop McDevitt's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Susquehanna Township, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Bishop McDevitt will take on East Pennsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Pennsboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 435th, while Bishop McDevitt is ranked 78th). Susquehanna Township will be staying on the road on Sunday to face off against North Allegheny at 10:00 a.m. on January 14th. North Allegheny has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
