Airport is a perfect 3-0 against Westwood since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will welcome the Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. Airport's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Westwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Airport took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over Brookland-Cayce. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Brice Gillette made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Cash Epps looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brayden Dunlap, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Braden Gross was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westwood might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Sumter who claimed the real prize. The Redhawks fell 4-1 to the Gamecocks.
Westwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Jeffcoat, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Airport's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Westwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Airport took their victory against Westwood when the teams last played on April 4th by a conclusive 15-3 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Redhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
