Troy proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 57) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the West Trojans out 56-53. The win was familiar territory for Troy, who have now won four matchups in a row.
West's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Easton Rinewalt, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Poteet, who put up eight points and 11 boards.
Troy's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-11.
Troy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West, they will challenge Scurry-Rosser at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
