The North DeSoto Griffins had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 50-24 margin over Huntington. The result was nothing new for North DeSoto, who have now won five matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
North DeSoto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenny Thomas led the charge by rushing for 145 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Cole Cory, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Huntington's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamarion Washington, who gained 66 total yards and a touchdown. Nyles Hullaby also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
North DeSoto's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. As for Huntington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North DeSoto will take on Bossier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bossier has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September first. As for Huntington, they will be playing at home against Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
