Basketball Recap: Pinewood Prep Takes Down First Baptist School in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pinewood Prep had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the First Baptist School Hurricanes 68-38. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Pinewood Prep was led to victory by Kais Parris and Tripp Eidson. Parris dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Eidson dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave Eidson a new career-high in assists (four). Jayden Alexander was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Pinewood Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Pinewood Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points over those games. As for First Baptist School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.
