Despite the loss, Cristo Rey St. Martin saw an underclassman step up: Alexy Chapa scored 17 points. Chapa scored a full 65.4% of Cristo Rey St. Martin's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Ida Crown Jewish Academy had to settle for a 52-49 defeat against Latin on Thursday.
Ilana Schwartz put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 30 points. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rena Neiger, who scored 8 points.
Cristo Rey St. Martin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ida Crown Jewish Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
