Ashley Yang and Allison Peeler made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Yang tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Peeler tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Yang gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Yang scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3, while Peeler went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three stolen bases gave Yang a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Blackwell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Teashia Ellis, who scored a run while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Salisbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, East Davidson had just enough and edged out Wheatmore 8-7 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
SOPHIE HAMPTON was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kyleigh Hedrick was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
East Davidson's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Salisbury, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
