The Rustburg Red Devils suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-30 walloping at the hands of Jefferson Forest. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rustburg in their matchups with Jefferson Forest: they've now lost six in a row.
Rustburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Tyree, who scored nine points.
Rustburg has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Jefferson Forest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Rustburg will head out on the road to square off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Rustburg likes a good challenge. As for Jefferson Forest, they will be playing at home against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
