The Washington Pam Pack will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Ayden - Grifton Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While Washington couldn't quite beat Greene Central on Wednesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 48-point loss they were dealt last Friday. Washington fell just short of Greene Central by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Ayden - Grifton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 58-23 loss at the hands of SouthWest Edgecombe. While losing is never fun, Ayden - Grifton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while SouthWest Edgecombe is ranked 124th).
Washington bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road. As for Ayden - Grifton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Washington ended up a good deal behind Ayden - Grifton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 56-39. Can Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
