The Gridley Bulldogs will challenge the Orland Trojans at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
Gridley took a ten-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Orland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Trojans  on Tuesday.  Kaydenze Pruitt made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned runs off   seven  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  triples,  and three  runs. What's more,  she posted four  RBI, the most she's  had since back in March.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Delanie Cloyd, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 Gridley pushed their record up to 16-5 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Orland, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
 Tuesday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gridley hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .462.
