There's no place like home for the Tucker County Mountain Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past Petersburg 51-49. That's another feather in the cap for Tucker County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ericka Zirk was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makenna Evans, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Tucker County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Petersburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tucker County will take on Pendleton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tucker County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Petersburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pocahontas County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
