Baseball Recap: Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Lewisville Lions on Thursday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Tomberlin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Olney, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Lewisville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Coming up, Central is taking a road trip to face off against Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lewisville, they will welcome Midlands STEM Charter at 6:00 p.m. on April 4.
