Nature Coast Tech has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Nature Coast Tech Sharks and the Weeki Wachee Hornets will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Quintara Norwood and Paige Atwater.
Nature Coast Tech suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Lecanto, falling 55-14. Nature Coast Tech was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Meanwhile, Weeki Wachee had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 victory over Hernando. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Weeki Wachee has posted yet this season.
Nature Coast Tech dropped their record down to 7-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.1 points per game. As for Weeki Wachee, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Things could have been worse for Nature Coast Tech, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-34 loss to Weeki Wachee in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Nature Coast Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
