The Eastern Randolph Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the North Moore Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It was a proper cat-fight when Eastern Randolph took on Anson on Friday. Eastern Randolph put the hurt on Anson with a sharp 15-5 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Lucas Smith and Chance Holdaway were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Smith struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Holdaway tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Smith has posted since back in March of 2024. At bat, Smith scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Holdaway got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Dunn, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bryson Marley, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Eastern Randolph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .579 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Moore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Northwood on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mustangs have posted since April 12, 2024.
Like Eastern Randolph, North Moore also got a great game from a two-way player: Dawson Futrell. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Futrell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Bradley Creek was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Michael Swarms was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Eastern Randolph's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for North Moore, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Eastern Randolph took their victory against North Moore in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 13-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastern Randolph since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
