The Liberty Lions posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 72-36 win over Pittsburg. With that win, Liberty brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Perea, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. Perea is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shyanne Smith, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Pittsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Caruthers at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th. Caruthers is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Pittsburg, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
