Softball Recap: Fleming Island Gets the Win

While Fleming Island's win against Bishop Snyder wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Eagles had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 5-4. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Olivia Sikes was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Madine, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Sikes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fleming Island kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February.

Fleming Island pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Snyder, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming Island will face off against Tocoi Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Snyder, they will challenge Bradford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Tornadoes have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
