After a string of four wins, the Paxton Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Florala by a score of 64-62. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Paxton was outscored by Florala in the second.
Paxton's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Morgan and Sawyer Adams. Morgan dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Adams dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Adams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deerlyn Guzman-Lopez, who scored eight points.
It was another big night for Rayshon Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds for Florala. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Dalton Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Paxton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Florala, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
