The Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs will head out to challenge the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summerfield Waldorf's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Rio Lindo Adventist's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Summerfield Waldorf is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Drew back in March. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Lazlo G was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. G was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Marcus J was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Ian M was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Summerfield Waldorf always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rio Lindo Adventist unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 10-3 to Calistoga.
Like Summerfield Waldorf, Rio Lindo Adventist also got a great game from a two-way player: Jhordany Barcenas. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Barcenas has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Samuel Muhindo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Rio Lindo Adventist's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Summerfield Waldorf, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Summerfield Waldorf has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rio Lindo Adventist struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Summerfield Waldorf's way against Rio Lindo Adventist in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Summerfield Waldorf made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
