Winning always takes teamwork, but on Monday Chase Barretto stepped things up a notch to give Valley Christian Academy the 'W'. Barretto went 2-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, which was good enough to set a new career-high in runs.

Coming up, Barretto and Valley Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge San Luis Obispo Classical Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Grizzlies thanks in part to Barretto: he tossed five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
