The E.E. Smith Golden Bulls were the 49-43 winner over the Overhills Jaguars when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. E.E. Smith fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 55-53. E.E. Smith has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
E.E. Smith lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Asany Richmond, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Derek Green was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Chauncy Kelly had an outrageously good game for Overhills as he scored 24 points. It was the first time this season that Kelly scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Poston, who scored ten points along with two steals.
E.E. Smith has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Overhills, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. E.E. Smith will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Overhills, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Lee County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
