The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The game between Arcadia/Loup City and Central City wasn't particularly close, with Arcadia/Loup City falling 50-31. Arcadia/Loup City has not had much luck with Central City recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Arcadia/Loup City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Lewandowski, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Vanslyke, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Arcadia/Loup City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Central City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colter Lueders, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ayden Zikmund, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Arcadia/Loup City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Central City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Arcadia/Loup City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Loup on Tuesday. As for Central City, Central City and Ravenna will face off at 6:15 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ravenna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Central City is ranked 28th).
