The Rowland Hall Winged Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Gunnison Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Rowland Hall still got an impressive performance from Yeshi Tsering, who scored 22 points along with five assists and three steals. Tsering scored a full 38.6% of Rowland Hall's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luc Dowdle, who scored 12 points.
Tyson Tucker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gunnison Valley, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Tucker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was jet hill, who scored 17 points.
Rowland Hall's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Gunnison Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rowland Hall will square off against American Prep WV at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gunnison Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Sanpete focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
