The Union Local Jets will be home for the holidays to greet the Harrison Central Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Local has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 345 points over their last five games.
Last Saturday, Union Local got the win against Magnolia by a conclusive 76-53. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Union Local has managed all season.
Union Local's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Moore, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The game was Moore's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dre Saunders, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Harrison Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Linsly at home and fell 72-44. While losing is never fun, Harrison Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 102nd in Ohio, while Linsly is ranked second in West Virginia).
Union Local's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Harrison Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Union Local couldn't quite finish off Harrison Central when the teams last played back in February and fell 60-58. Can Union Local avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
