The Black Hills Wolves entered their tilt with the Elma Eagles with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Black Hills took down Elma 56-37 on Monday. Given Black Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Elma is ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Black Hills got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Venable out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Ashley Harris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Black Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Elma, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Black Hills will take on Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elma won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eatonville at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Eatonville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
