The Cottage Cougars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Howard Hawks at 4:30 p.m. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Cottage: 29.9, Howard: 26.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
Cottage can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Atlanta Area School for the Deaf with a sharp 46-20 victory. The win was familiar territory for Cottage who now have four in a row.
Cottage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Finley Love led the charge by scoring 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Pressnall, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Howard scored the most points they've had all season to find success on January 11th. They really took it to Tapestry Charter for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-8 win at home. The win was just what Howard needed coming off of a 41-21 loss in their prior game.
Howard found their leader in underclassman Zoe McLaughlin, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McLaughlin has scored all season.
Cottage has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Howard, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Cottage didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Howard in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. Does Cottage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Howard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
