The New Riegel Blue Jackets fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Calvert Senecas on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Senecas by a score of 54-52. New Riegel has not had much luck with Calvert recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calvert to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Otterbacher, who scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otterbacher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Carter Wolph, who scored 19 points.
New Riegel's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Calvert, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
New Riegel will head out on the road to face off against Old Fort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvert, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Danbury at 7:00 p.m. Danbury is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Calvert will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
