The Master's Academy Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 16th straight loss. They took a 23-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy. If Master's Academy hoped to take revenge for the 46-21 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Master's Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carissa Hennessey, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and four steals. Hennessey hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Holderman, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Master's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-14.
Master's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Real Life Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on January 20th. Real Life Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cocoa Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cocoa Beach is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
