Basketball Game Preview: John Milledge Academy Trojans vs. Piedmont Academy Cougars

John Milledge Academy is 8-2 against Piedmont Academy since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The John Milledge Academy Trojans will take on the Piedmont Academy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Piedmont Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on John Milledge Academy, who comes in off a win.

John Milledge Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past First Presbyterian Day 69-48 on Friday.

It was another big night for Isaiah Johnson, who went 11 of 20 on his way to 30 points along with six steals and five rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Bryce McDonel was another key player, going 8 for 13 en route to 17 points and seven boards.

John Milledge Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Presbyterian Day only posted three assists.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-63 heartbreaker at the hands of Windsor Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

John Milledge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Piedmont Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Everything came up roses for John Milledge Academy against Piedmont Academy in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 54-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for John Milledge Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
