The Holy Cross Cougars will head out on the road to  face off against  the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
 Holy Cross fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Bullitt East  on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of  3-2.
  Casey Cirillo put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off   nine  hits (and not a single walk). Cirillo was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run.
 Cirillo wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Lauren Minor, who  went 1-for-4 with  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Pleasure Ridge Park waltzed into their game  on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with  a  21-11 win. Pleasure Ridge Park's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Holy Cross' defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 6-5. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
 Holy Cross came up short against Pleasure Ridge Park in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023, falling  9-6. Can Holy Cross avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
