The Oakwood Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 58-37 defeat at the hands of Penelope. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oakwood in their matchups with Penelope: they've now lost four in a row.
Penelope's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Schwarz, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Schwarz hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Lednicky, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Oakwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Penelope, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Oakwood will be playing at home against Avalon at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Penelope, they will head out on the road to face off against Bynum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bynum will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1527th, while Penelope is ranked 682nd).
