St. John is 0-8 against Burke since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The St. John's Islanders will head out on the road to challenge the Burke Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m.
Last Friday, St. John's came up short against Cross and fell 56-43. St. John's has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Burke gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They put the hurt on Palmetto Scholars Academy with a sharp 60-38 victory. Given Burke's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Palmetto Scholars Academy is ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. John's has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Burke, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
St. John's suffered a grim 50-26 defeat to Burke when the teams last played on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Burke's Terry Jenkins, who scored 14 points along with six blocks and five steals.
