It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Crestview Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over Gulf Breeze. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Crestview has posted yet this season.
Crestview found their leader in underclassman Natalie Toney, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Boydstun, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Gulf Breeze lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Piper Tieman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Tieman hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Makayla Brammer was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Crestview has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Gulf Breeze, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
