The Lake Mary Rams put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 49-21 win over Apopka on the road. Given Lake Mary's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Apopka is ranked 55th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lake Mary to victory were Noah Grubbs and Isaiah Thomas. Grubbs threw for 367 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, while Thomas gained 145 total yards and four touchdowns. Grubbs is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. Caden Harshbarger also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.
Lake Mary's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Apopka, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Mary will face off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seminole is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Apopka, they will head out on the road to face off against Evans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
