Volleyball Recap: Arlington's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Arlington had lost four straight headed into Thursday's matchup, but Ethan Nguyen didn't let it get to five. The Lions came out on top against the Vista del Lago Ravens by a score of 3-1 on Thursday with plenty of help from Nguyen, who had five aces and four digs. He has been hot recently, having also posted 13 or more assists the last three times he's played.

Arlington was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-13, 25-19.

Arlington's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 10-8. As for Vista del Lago, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Arlington will square off against Poly at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Vista del Lago, they will take on Rancho Verde at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
