The Bland County Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 54-32 loss to George Wythe might stick with them for a while. Bland County has not had much luck with George Wythe recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Bland County saw an underclassman step up: Tinley Worley scored 19 points along with four steals. Worley hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Bland County dropped their record down to 6-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for George Wythe, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bland County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Grayson County at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for George Wythe, they will head out on the road to take on Fort Chiswell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Chiswell is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
