Even though the Morning Star Academy Mustangs have not done well against the Tri-State Christian Huskies recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Morning Star Academy walked away with a 55-43 victory over Tri-State Christian. This was payback for Morning Star Academy, who suffered a 59-52 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Morning Star Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Curry, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Yowell, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
Morning Star Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Tri-State Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Morning Star Academy will head out on the road to face off against Rivermont Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tri-State Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pathway Christian at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Pathway Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Thursday.
