Basketball Game Preview: Battle Ground Academy Wildcats vs. The Webb School Feet

The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will square off against The Webb School Feet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Battle Ground Academy turned things around against Grace Christian Academy on Friday. They breezed by the Lions to the tune of 56-15.

Battle Ground Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cece McClellan led the charge by going 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and five steals. Those five steals gave McClellan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kate Northam, who posted five points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, The Webb School had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 54-43 win over the Bulldogs.

The Webb School has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Battle Ground Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.

Battle Ground Academy was dealt a bruising 76-24 loss at the hands of The Webb School when the teams last played on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of The Webb School's Daria Biriuk, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 20 points along with eight assists and eight steals.
