The SCHSL released a list of postponed football games Wednesday and announced that the state swim meet would be postponed for a week due to Hurricane Matthew.
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said Tuesday that a complete evacuation of the state's coast will take place today. That will affect 1.1 million of the state's 4.8 million residents. Haley told people she wanted them 100 miles away from the coast.
Most schools in the state have closed for the remainder of the week and most athletic events are being pushed to Monday. Schools are in charge of the decision to reschedule and the new date of play.
A complete listing of all those affected events is located at

The SCHSL state swim meet will be held Oct. 14-15 at the University of South Carolina. Class 5A finals are 6 p.m. on Oct. 14. The 4A finals (10:15 a.m.) and 3A state finals (3 p.m.) will be contested Oct. 15.
