Baseball Recap: Willcox Victorious

Willcox took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against St. Augustine Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cowboys had just enough and edged out the Wolves 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cowboys have posted since March 7th.

Willcox saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Morales, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Willcox is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Willcox wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 win against Duncan on the 7th. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-12 loss against Chandler Prep on the 7th.
