Baseball Recap: Pleasant Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pleasant Valley came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Shasta Wolves get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Dominic Borges made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. Borges was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pleasant Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-12 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Holden Franks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Pleasant Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pleasant Valley now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Shasta, they dropped their record down to 14-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Pleasant Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair will be back at it again later today.
